I was standing on the corner, waiting for the light to change
When I felt him tap my shoulder right before I heard him say

For a cold and hungry brother a little down on his luck,

But I'm thinking that a hot meal isn't what you want it for
He looked me in the eye said I know what you think,
But I don't do drugs and it's been months since I've had a drink.

I stood there staring at him and feeling sorry and ashamed,
Wondering how someone with nothing could still have so much faith
He shook my hand and thanked me so humble and sincere that
I couldn't help but ask myself who's the beggar here?
